Acceptable use policy

This policy sits alongside our terms and conditions. It exists mostly because we read a public register on your behalf, and that access comes with limits we have to pass on.

Companies you may track

Add companies you have a legitimate reason to monitor: clients you act for, companies you are an officer of, or companies you are otherwise responsible for.

You must not:

• add companies in bulk with no connection to you, in order to harvest register data;
• use the service to build a competing dataset or a resale product;
• attempt to circumvent plan limits, including by opening multiple accounts;
• automate access to the service outside its intended use.

Companies House imposes rate limits on the register API, and heavy extraction risks that access for every customer. Accounts that behave this way will be suspended.

The client portal

Portal links give whoever holds them sight of one company's deadlines. Send them only to people entitled to see that information, and revoke access when someone no longer is.

If you use the white-label portal, you must not present FiledOnTime as your own software to the point of misrepresenting who provides it, and you remain responsible for what your branding claims.

General conduct

• Do not attempt to access another account's data.
• Do not probe, scan or test the security of the service without written permission.
• Do not use the service to send unsolicited mail.
• Do not upload or transmit anything unlawful.

Reporting a problem

If you find a security issue, tell us at support@filedontime.co.uk before disclosing it anywhere else. We will work with you and will not pursue anyone acting in good faith.

Enforcement

We may suspend or close accounts that breach this policy. Where it is reasonable we will tell you first, but for serious breaches, including anything that puts our register access at risk, we may act immediately.
