FiledOnTime vs Deadline Tracker
Deadline Tracker is a general deadline management system for professional firms. It handles statutory, client, personal and operational deadlines side by side, with a traffic light priority system, configurable alerts and access controls.
FiledOnTime is narrower on purpose. It does one job: reading the Companies House register for the limited companies you look after, working out what is due when, and telling you before it is.
If you want one place for every kind of deadline your firm has, Deadline Tracker is built for that and FiledOnTime is not.
When Deadline Tracker is the better choice
- You want one tool for every deadline type in the firm, not just statutory filing dates. Deadline Tracker is deliberately general, and covers internal and client deadlines that FiledOnTime has no concept of.
- You need deadlines that shift automatically against your own rules, or an "open periods" style view of the working time you have left before each one.
- Cost matters more than depth on Companies House specifically. Deadline Tracker can work out cheaper overall, particularly if it replaces several tools rather than sitting alongside them.
When FiledOnTime is the better choice
- You want the dates filled in for you. FiledOnTime pulls the confirmation statement and accounts dates from the Companies House register by company number, rather than having you enter each deadline by hand.
- ECCTA identity verification matters to you. FiledOnTime reads each director and PSC from the register, tracks verification per person, and reads the published status where Companies House provides it.
- You want VAT handled by cadence. Set a company as quarterly stagger 2 once and every future return date follows, with no dates to re-enter each quarter.

Pricing
Deadline Tracker offers a 30 day free trial and does not publish its pricing on its home page, so compare current figures directly with them. It can work out cheaper overall, particularly if it replaces more than one tool.
FiledOnTime is £5 a month for three companies, £19 for twenty-five with three seats, and £99 for unlimited. Extra companies and seats can be added to a plan rather than forcing an upgrade.
We could not confirm Deadline Tracker's current pricing from their public pages, so we have not quoted a figure. Ask them directly rather than taking a number from a comparison page, including this one.
Common questions
- Is Deadline Tracker cheaper than FiledOnTime?
- It can be, depending on your firm size and what it replaces. We would rather say so plainly than pretend otherwise. FiledOnTime starts at £5 a month for three companies and £19 for twenty-five. Check Deadline Tracker’s current pricing with them directly, since they do not publish it on their home page.
- Can I use both?
- Yes, and some firms will want to. They do different jobs: Deadline Tracker for the firm’s deadlines generally, FiledOnTime for statutory filing dates pulled straight from the register.
